WW2 visit to Coventry Cathedral

Coventry Cathedral Visit

As part of their topic work this term, Class 2 went to Coventry Cathedral on 11th May 2016.  The children were given a guided tour of the Blitz Experience Museum within the Cathedral, a Blitz workshop in the afternoon and learnt about how, in November 1940, Coventry was changed forever. The tour told them the story of how, out of the ruins, came a story of hope, determination and courage as the Cathedral became a beacon for peace and reconciliation. In the Blitz Experience the tour guide explained what Coventry was like before the Blitz and how the people of Coventry coped with its aftermath.
