After a lovely two week break, Class 2 are back and raring to go! We started our new topic about World War Two this week and have already learnt about why WW2 began, and about how 3.5 million British children were evacuated from the cities to the countryside. We've written letters to our parents back at home as if we have been evacuated, and made our own evacuation labels to make sure we don't get lost!
In maths, we have been looking a division of 2 and 3 digit numbers, using a variety of written methods but always using our times tables, and we have started looking at data handling - bar charts and line graphs mainly.
Some children have brought in some very interesting WW2 memorabilia from home this week and we have really enjoyed seeing all of your real life artefacts, photographs and letters. If you have anything at home you think might enhance our topic, we would love to see it! (Any fragile or important items can be passed directly to Mrs. Logan who will ensure they are cared for)
