Class 2 have had a great week back after the Easter break and have started their new topic, 'The Terrible Tudors!' We really have jumped straight into the terrible-ness, learning about Henry VIII and how he beheaded two of his wives! Plus a few other conversations about some gory or unpleasant habits the Tudors might have had!
Alongside this, the children have drawn portraits of Henry VIII, researched his life and written biographies and created timelines including all the Tudor monarchs. We have been busy!
In maths we have been revising written methods for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to prepare us for some word problem solving next week. It's been a good reminder for some of us about long multiplication and short division, and a very good reminder to keep practicing our times tables at home as we might have become a little rusty over the break!
Homework projects for our Tudor topic were sent out yesterday, so please check your emails. It is a fairly flexible project this term to reflect the level of uncertainty we are still experiencing in our day to day lives, and we will be sending details of our Class 2 trip out shortly. We are extremely excited to be able to take the children somewhere this term but of course are working hard behind to scenes to make it all Covid secure and as safe as possible. If you have any questions once the letter has been handed out, please do let me know.
