Welcome back to a brand new school year at The Priors School! Class 2 have had a great first week back getting used to a new classroom, new classmates and a new name for their teacher; I am now known as Mrs. Logan in preparation for my wedding in the coming months! I have decided to change my name at school as of the start of term to make the transition easier for parents, staff and children alike!
Our topic this half term is 'Extreme Earth', we will be looking at natural disasters around the world, what causes them and the effects that they might have. This will include forest fires, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and hurricanes. If you have any books or personal experiences about these topics then please feel free to send them in or come and chat to us!
This week we have been focusing on place value in maths to support our future learning, and we have started writing newspaper articles about the recent fires in the Amazon Rainforest in our literacy lessons.
We hope your children have had a good week in Class 2, if there are issues please do not hesitate to catch me on the playground or send an email to the School Office to sort out a meeting.
