Welcome back! I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and managed to see everyone you wanted too without too much hassle!
Our topic in Class 2 this half term is Antarctica! We will be learning all about the weather, animals, scientists and explorers of this frozen continent, hopefully not encouraging too much freezing weather to find us here in Priors Marston whilst we do so!
In maths this week, we have been revising decimals (the children did do some work on this whilst I was away with Covid, however I know this was something they found tricky so we are having another look)
So far we have looked at decimal tenths and now we are moving into decimal hundredths.
In literacy we have started some work on inverted commas (speech punctuation) and will be using our skills to write stories based in Antarctica.
Please ensure your child has some warm clothing in school as we do need the windows open all the time in class - it has been a bit chilly and we are allowing them to wear coats etc....if they want too. We really appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter; we desperately want to stay open and maintaining good ventilation is a key way that we can do this and avoid a serious outbreak.
