Welcome back to another exciting year in Class 2! We have had a lovely time getting to know each other this week and have started working hard on our new topic, 'Extreme Earth!'; where we will be learning about earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, tornadoes and other extreme disaster and weather events.
The children have been working on place value this week, revising and gaining new knowledge which will support them in the rest of their maths learning as the year progress. In year 3 we have been focusing on numbers up to 1000, and in year 4 we have been focusing on numbers beyond 1000.
In our literacy lessons we have been learning how to use descriptive language and conjunctions to improve our writing, and we have started writing factfiles about earthquakes which we will continue working on next week. The children have researched their own information about earthquakes and are now sorting that information into a factfile format, with paragraphs, headings and interesting facts.
