Week One and Two - 6.1.20 and 13.1.20

We have started our new topic this half term about Antarctica and the children have already learnt lots! We have learnt all about the race to the South Pole between Robert Scott and Roald Amundson, and how many other explorers had tried to reach the pole before them and failed. The children have also learnt about the geography and climate of Antarctica, plus it's size and location.

In literacy, we have been looking at using subordinate clauses in our writing. This can be tricky and the children have worked really hard to grasp this concept and include them in their writing.

In maths, we have been learning about time; telling the time to and past the hour to the nearest minute, 24 hour and 12 hour clock, time vocabulary and time problem solving.

We have swimming on Wednesdays this term, so please remember your kit! The children will continue PE lessons on Thursdays, so PE kit is required on this day.
