This week in Class 2 we have been learning about Queen Elizabeth I and her victory over the Spanish Armada. We have written newspaper reports either from the Spanish or English perspective at the time and discussed in depth the reasons Spain tried tirelessly to invade England during the reign of Good Queen Bess.
In maths we have been looking at time telling - telling the time to the nearest minute, 12 hour and 24 clock and converting between the two and starting to look at some problems involving comparing time duration. This is often a tricky topic but Class 2 have done superbly and persevered even things got tricky!
We are looking forward to our trip to Mary Arden's Farm next week! We will be outside for most of the day (to ensure we are totally Covid secure) and so wearing our coats (and maybe a hat to keep the rain off!) will be really important. The forecast is predicting isolated showers for that day so hopefully we won't get too wet - although I'm certain just being away from school for the day will mean we have a fantastic day even if we do get rained on!
The coach is leaving at 9am, so please ensure your child is at school for 8.45am to give them time to visit the toilet, sort their lunch and drink out, listen to a quick 'safety out of school' chat and get into their groups before we depart.
We will be back at school for normal pick up time. If you child goes to ASC then we will ensure they get there safely as always.
