Week Two - 7.9.20

We have had fun finishing off our Wizard of Oz topic and enjoying our new friends in Class 2!

In maths this week we have been looking at place value; understanding what each digit in a 3, 4 or 5 digit number is worth, comparing numbers using <> and = symbols and ordering numbers in order from smallest to biggest and vice versa.

We will be carrying on with place value next work; looking at rounding to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000 and adding on 10, 100 and 1000 to given numbers.

In literacy we have been writing descriptions of characters from the Wizard of Oz; focusing on their appearance and what sort of person we know they are from their behaviour in the story. We have also enjoyed doing some Wizard of Oz artwork for a display!

Moving on from the Wizard of Oz, our topic until October half term will be 'Ocean Explorers' and we will be looking at the oceans of the world, what lives in them, how humans are affecting them and what we can do to help.
