Class 2 have carried on their work on Natural Disasters this week, learning about how tectonic plates cause earthquakes and how the continents have drifted over the past 250 million years. We have finished our amazing news articles on the fires in the Amazon Rainforest and have moved into discussing verbs before we write some descriptive pieces about earthquakes.
Our work in maths on place value has nearly come to an end, we have covered comparing and ordering numbers, adding 10, 100 and 1000 to numbers, negative numbers and partitioning numbers. Next week we will be covering rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000 before we move to working on addition.
The children have completed 'tropical collages' based on the work of the a Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes this week to link with our work on the Amazon Rainforest fires. The collages look great and the children have had a great time completing them.
