Ordering, booking deadline and late orders

Parents order every half term. This means you order six times per academic year.  We open Meal Manager for new term ordering approximately one to two weeks before the end of term (this can vary). Parents can order meals for the whole half term, weekly or select which days you want your child to eat with us.

The deadline for booking is always at midday each Thursday for meals required from the Monday of the following week. This is because we are a fresh food company and therefore need to place our fresh food orders on the Thursday afternoon in order for our supplies to deliver to our schools for the following week.  Should a parent miss this deadline, you will be able to order as normal but will be limited to the Late Order System, providing a jacket potato or deli option. The deadline for booking from this system is 9.00am each morning.  After 9.00am, parents will be required to provide a lunch from home. Bookings should be made on the Fresh Start Website.


Payment of meals

KS1 children are entitled to Universal Free School Meals and therefore we have set our Meal Manager system to not require payment for meals for KS1 pupils, this is managed at a class level. Children who are entitled to free school meals in KS2 (PPFSM) will have their account manually adjusted for FSM, this is managed on an individual level.

Meal Manager automatically works out the cost by the amount of meals added to the basket.  We use SagePay for taking payments and this is done securely through Meal Manager.


Cancellation of meals

Parents are not able to cancel meals via their account; therefore, we ask parents to let us know of any meal cancellations by 9.00am of the Thursday the week before you wish to cancel any meal. We ask parents to contact us directly at support@freshstartcatering.uk. This applies to both KS1 and KS2 children, to ensure we do not purchase or cook unnecessarily and waste food.
