An introduction to our school caterer
My background is in catering having worked in the industry for the last 20 years on and off, including pubs, hotels, conference and banqueting. In my spare time I love to bake and decorate cakes for different occasions.
I am very passionate about food, cooking and healthy eating as well as where our food comes from. I am very excited about cooking the school meals on site where I can engage with the children and hopefully inspire them.
I have four children, two of which have certain allergies to food, so I am fully aware of dietary requirements and am very happy to discuss and cater for any requirements your child might have.
I will be promoting healthy eating and encouraging the children to make healthy choices and to try new things.
My goal is to get the 'School Food Excellence Award' for the school.
I would like to involve the children in their eating experience and will be asking the children for feedback on their meals and asking what they would like to see on the menu.
I will be working alongside the Food for Life Partnership which is led by the Soil Association. They work with thousands of schools in England, supporting them to transform the food culture, improving lunchtimes and encouraging children and their families into cooking, growing and visiting farms.
All the school menus will be seasonal and fresh food will be sourced locally where possible.
There will be a cost of £3.00 per day for children in Years 3-6. Lunches will continue to be free for Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 in line with the government’s Universal Free School Meals policy.
The menus will be sent out on a 4 week rotation, with payment due in advance through Parent Pay
