Downing Street Visit

During Wednesday evening last week I felt excited and very privileged as I entered through the famous door at 10 Downing Street. Along with some other free school Head Teachers I was invited to a reception hosted by the Prime Minister to celebrate the success of the Government’s free schools programme.

I was amazed by the enormity and grandeur of the famous house and sensed its exciting history as I climbed the stairs and looked at the photographs of the Prime Ministers who have resided there over hundreds of years. I had the opportunity to meet and discuss the free schools programme with other head teachers and was introduced to David Cameron. Photographs of this occasion exist on an official site but unfortunately I am not permitted to add them to the school’s website. As you are probably aware there are strict security controls in Downing Street and mobile phones and cameras are forbidden inside the house.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the experience I am above all pleased that the efforts and hard work of all associated with the Priors School have been officially recognised.
