Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
I am aware that parents are concerned about the wet weather procedure before school.
Staff are often busy in school before normal drop off time at 8.55am so therefore there could be an issue regarding safety if pupils are not fully supervised in the building. We are, however, able to invite pupils into school at 8.50am in the event of heavy rain by being met first at the main front door to the building.
Otherwise I advise that parents delay their journey to school to arrive as close to 8.55am and/or come prepared for inclement weather.
We are pleased to announce that the School Council has made a successful bid and presentation to the 'Priors Education Trust' to fund benches for a new playground quiet area.
Well done!!
National data released by the DFE through Ofsted recently has provided some good news relating to pupil academic achievement for 2013/14 in our school.
By the end of Key Stage 1 (Class 1) our pupils have demonstrated an increased level of achievement against national standards in all areas of the core curriculum (Mathematics, Reading and Writing) with reading levels being significantly high.
I am also pleased to report that figures show a marked increase in the quality of writing against national standards this year by the end of Key Stage 2 (Class 3) which you may remember from previous letters was a key focus in the school’s development plan.
Precise levels of achievement can be accessed in the ‘Pupil Premium’ section of our website.
Well done to all pupils and staff!
